Trending on the Farm: Kyle Teel, Colson Montgomery shine bright against Round Rock

Noah Schultz – MLB Pipeline White Sox #1

Noah Schultz rebounded nicely in the Barons’ series sweep in Pensacola last week.

Kyle Teel – MLB Pipeline White Sox #2

Kyle Teel was absolutely crushing the baseball last week against Round Rock, and has been scorching hot in the month of May, slashing .356/.465/.644 (1.109 OPS) in 17 games with five doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI, with 12 walks and 14 strikeouts. Teel now sports a .293/.397/.490 batting line (.887 OPS) over 43 games for the season in Charlotte and is the definition of Trending on the Farm.

Hagen Smith – MLB Pipeline White Sox #3

Hagen Smith skipped his start last week to get in some biomechanics work, per Scott Merkin.

Colson Montgomery – MLB Pipeline White Sox #6

Colson Montgomery has been both swinging the bat and seeing the ball well ever since he’s returned from Arizona. Montgomery broke out in a big way on Saturday night with his 4-for-4 effort, with all of his hits going for extra bases in that affair. Montgomery did reach base safely at least one in all five of the games he appeared in last week, and also walked three times while striking out six. Since returning from Arizona, the 23-year-old has posted a .341/.413/.634 slash line (1.047 OPS) with a 10.9 BB%, 21.7 K%, and a 167 wRC+ in 10 games (six doubles, two home runs, seven RBI).

Braden Montgomery – MLB Pipeline White Sox #4

Braden Montgomery had a tough week against an excellent Hudson Valley team, but did manage to send Dash fans home happy with a walk-off hit on Saturday night.

Grant Taylor – MLB Pipeline White Sox #7

Grant Taylor was unhittable out of the Barons bullpen last week, making two perfect appearances.

Jairo Iriarte – MLB Pipeline White Sox #9

Jairo Iriarte is also working on biomechanics work after an extremely tough beginning to his 2025 season.

George Wolkow – MLB Pipeline White Sox #10

George Wolkow had a tough week at the plate, but did only strike out three times (in 16 at-bats) over four games.

Caleb Bonemer – MLB Pipeline White Sox #11

Caleb Bonemer produced another solid week at the plate for Kannapolis, sending four of his six hits on the week for doubles. Bonemer did strike out a tad more often than normal last week (eight in 19 at-bats), but did walk three times.

Trending on the Farm: AAA (Charlotte)

Brooks Baldwin

24-year-old Brooks Baldwin was outstanding in his first week back with the Knights, batting .409/.458/.727 for a 1.185 OPS over five games scoring six runs, knocked one double, two home runs, three RBI, and was unsuccessful on both of his stolen base attempts.

Bryan Ramos – MLB Pipeline White Sox #14

23-year-old Bryan Ramos also swung it well against Round Rock, hitting .267/.389/.733 for a 1.122 OPS in four games scoring three runs, hit one double, two home runs, six RBI, and walked three times to just one strikeout.

Zach DeLoach

26-year-old Zach DeLoach hit .308/.308/.769 with a 1.077 OPS in four games last week, scoring three runs, knocking two home runs, and had five RBI.

Nick Maton

28-year-old Nick Maton had three hits, including a home run, in two games last week with four RBI and two runs scored.

Tristan Gray

29-year-old Tristan Gray had a 1.052 OPS with a double, home run, four RBI, and two runs scored in three games.

Corey Julks

29-year-old Corey Julks had a .912 OPS in four games last week against Round Rock, compiling six hits, including two doubles, over four games. Julks scored four runs, had two RBI, and was successful on his lone stolen base attempt.

Evan McKendry

There weren’t too many brightspots on the Knights pitching staff last week, but 27-year-old right-hander Evan McKendry pitched four scoreless innings allowing one hit, walked three, and struck out two.

Trending on the Farm: AA (Birmingham)

Jacob Gonzalez – MLB Pipeline White Sox #13

22-year-old Jacob Gonzalez had another strong week offensively for the Barons, batting .304/.292/.696 for a .988 OPS last week in Pensacola over six games. Gonzalez scored five runs, hit three home runs, had five RBI, and was 2-for-2 on stolen bases.

Shane Murphy

24-year-old Shane Murphy once again had another solid outing for the Barons, and has a 1.80 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 24 strikeouts in 25 innings with the Barons so far this season.

Peyton Pallette

23-year-old Peyton Pallette was great out of the Birmingham bullpen, hurling two more scoreless appearances allowing just one hit and struck out three in two and a third innings while also notching two saves in two tries.

Jake Palisch

26-year-old Jake Palisch has been on quite the heater since joining the Barons rotation, yielding a quality start in his latest outing.

Riley Gowens

25-year-old Riley Gowens had a two start week and was solid in both outings. In total, Gowens pitched 10 innings allowing eight hits, four runs, (three earned), walked five, and struck out 10.

Zach Franklin

26-year-old Zach Franklin was perfect out of the bullpen, making two scoreless appearances. Franklin threw two total innings and struck out four.

Max Roberts

27-year-old southpaw Max Roberts made two scoreless appearances last week, allowing one hit and struck out three in two innings of work.

Jared Kelley

23-year-old right-hander Jared Kelley made three appearances for the Barons last week throwing three and two thirds innings allowing three hits, one run (unearned) walked one, and struck out five.

Trending on the Farm: A+ (Winston-Salem)

Luis Pineda

23-year-old Luis Pineda made the most of his three games last week, sending three of his five hits for extra bases (two doubles, home run), scored two runs, and had six RBI.

Jordan Sprinkle

24-year-old Jordan Sprinkle hit .294/.400/.647 for a 1.047 OPS last week, scoring four runs, hit a double, triple, home run, had three RBI, and went 3-for-3 on stolen bases in five games.

Jeral Perez – MLB Pipeline White Sox #20

20-year-old Jeral Perez hit .261/.370/.565 for a .935 OPS in six games last week, scoring four runs, hit two doubles, a triple, home run, had four RBI, and was successful on his only stolen base attempt.

Tanner McDougal

22-year-old Tanner McDougal had a two start week, the second of which was quite good. In total, McDougal pitched seven innings allowing seven hits, three runs (three earned), walked three, and struck out seven.

Mark McLaughlin

24-year-old right-hander Mark McLaughlin made two scoreless appearances for the Dash last week. In four innings, McLaughlin allowed two hits, walked two, struck out five, and picked up a save.

Trending on the Farm: A (Kannapolis)

Calvin Harris

23-year-old Calvin Harris had a great week for Kannapolis, batting .500/.571/.611 for a 1.182 OPS in five games last week. Harris scored six runs, hit two doubles, three RBI, and was 2-for-2 on stolen bases.

Ronny Hernandez

20-year-old Ronny Hernandez hit .333/.429/.611 for a 1.040 OPS in five games. Hernandez scored two runs, hit two doubles, one home run, six RBI, and walked as much as he struck out (three).

Grant Umberger

23-year-old southpaw Grant Umberger unleashed a dominating start last week against Columbia.

Luis Reyes

19-year-old Luis Reyes put together a solid outing against the Fireflies last week.

Carlton Perkins

22-year-old righty Carlton Perkins made two scoreless appearances last week for the Cannon Ballers, throwing two and two thirds innings walking one and striking out three.

Jack Young

23-year-old Jack Young had two more scoreless appearances out of the Kannapolis bullpen last week, throwing three total innings allowing one hit and struck out two.

Blake Shepardson

21-year-old right-hander Blake Shepardson made two appearances last week, throwing two innings allowing one run (unearned), two walks, and struck out four.

Trending on the Farm: Rookie (ACL)

Matt Hogan

25-year-old outfielder Matt Hogan swung the bat well for the ACL White Sox, slashing .357/.526/.571 for a 1.097 OPS with two runs scored, a double, triple, three RBI, and went 2-for-3 on stolen bases in five games.

D’Angelo Tejada

19-year-old infielder D’Angelo Tejada hit .357/.438/.571 for a 1.009 OPS last week, with two runs scored, a home run, three RBI, and went 3-for-3 on stolen bases in five games.

Fabian Ysalla

20-year-old right-hander Fabian Ysalla had a fantastic week, making two scoreless appearances (one start), hurling eight scoreless innings allowing five hits, two walks, and struck out nine.

Jeremy González

20-year-old left-hander Jeremy González
made two scoreless appearances last week, allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out four in three innings of work.

Nick Altermatt

25-year-old Nick Altermatt is rehabbing in the ACL and was absolutely stellar in both of his perfect appearances. Altermatt threw three total innings and struck out seven.

Gray Thomas

22-year-old righty Gray Thomas struck out three in his lone appearance of the week, throwing two innings allowing one unearned run.
