The Knights had a less than stellar game (15 Ks and 3 errors) but their pitching between Rienzo and Duente Heath kept them in the game. The Knights’ lineup faced a worthy opponent in Orioles’ top prospect Kevin Gausman who struck out 6 over 4 2/3 scoreless innings. Boggs was hit around in the 8th inning and the Tides took the lead they would finish with.

The Barons jumped out to an early lead behind Myles Jaye, who put forth a quality start. However, the offense died early and a tough start of the 7th inning for Nestor Molina relinquished the lead to the Biscuits. Micah Johnson was thrown out at second base trying to put himself in scoring position with 2 outs in the 9th inning.

The Dash fell to the Blue Rocks behind 2013 draftee Brad Goldberg. The Blue Rocks star-studded offense proved to be too much for the Winston Salem pitching staff.

The Kannapolis pitching staff shined against the Drive on Friday night. Danish, Throne and Jake Sanchez teamed up to only allow 5 hits, 2 walks and no earned runs while striking out 10. It was a total team effort from the Intimidators’ offense as every player accounted for either a run or an RBI.

A few scouts have been able to see some White Sox prospects in the early going and have left their sentiment towards a handful of players. The most glaring of the reviews: Courtney Hawkins. Following a tough 2014, the 20-year-old outfielder has had encouraging reviews from a couple of scouts. Obviously it’s very early, but Hawkins is going to a be prospect to watch this year either way as he possesses perhaps the highest potential of all White Sox prospects.
Hawkins has also made some adjustments. More crouched, hands are lower, load is less pronounced, swing shorter.
