Trending on the Farm: Hagen Smith and Christian Oppor shove while Caleb Bonemer has strong first week with Dash

The Trending on the Farm series will highlight player trends from the top prospects in the White Sox system as well as any other notable performances across all active affiliates. Last week’s version is available here.

Noah Schultz – MLB Pipeline White Sox #2

Noah Schultz made his second start since coming off the IL and had a longer outing that his last, but was still a short effort as he ramps back up prior to the Arizona Fall League.

Braden Montgomery – MLB Pipeline White Sox #1

Braden Montgomery managed three doubles in what was an unusually quiet week for the entire Barons offense.

Billy Carlson – MLB Pipeline White Sox #3

Billy Carlson continues getting reps in Bridge League games and occasionally we’re lucky enough to catch some glimpses of him in action.

Caleb Bonemer – MLB Pipeline White Sox #4

Caleb Bonemer’s first week with Winston-Salem was very solid, capping it off with a huge game on Sunday. Bonemer appeared in five total games, both walked and struck out four times, and reached base safely in four out of five games. His big breakout game on Sunday saw him go 3-4 with a double, two home runs, three RBI, and a walk.

Hagen Smith – MLB Pipeline White Sox #5

After a tough second start last week, Hagen Smith bounced back in a big way, and most notably, his velocity ticked back up in his most recent start.

Tanner McDougal – MLB Pipeline White Sox #7

Tanner McDougal was perfect through his allotted three innings of work against Knoxville as his dominant 2025 season marches on.

Jaden Fauske – MLB Pipeline White Sox #6

Jaden Fauske also continues to get reps in Bridge League play.

Christian Oppor – MLB Pipeline White Sox #8

Christian Oppor had a two start week for the Dash and shoved in both outings as his very successful first opportunity with a full season affiliate nears its end. Video of the first outing can be found here.

Sam Antonacci – MLB Pipeline White Sox #11

Sam Antonacci had an uncharacteristically slow week at the plate for the Barons, but did still manage to go 3-for-3 on stolen bases in the process and is now 17-for-19 (89.5%) with the Barons and 44-for-54 (81.5%) overall this season.

Trending on the Farm: AAA (Charlotte)

Jacob Amaya

26-year-old Jacob Amaya had a strong week at the plate for the Knights, slashing .294/.429/.471 for an even .900 OPS over five games against Nashville. Amaya scored four runs, had a home run, three RBI, and was 2-for-3 on stolen bases.

Mike Clevinger

34-year-old Mike Clevinger compiled another solid outing for the Knights, striking out seven in five frames.

Bryan Hudson

28-year-old southpaw Bryan Hudson made two scoreless appearances last week against the Sounds, throwing three and a third innings allowing two hits, one walk, and struck out two.

Owen White

26-year-old right-hander Owen White made two scoreless appearances last week, throwing three total innings allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out one batter.

Trending on the Farm: AA (Birmingham)

Wilfred Veras

22-year-old Wilfred Veras posted a .435/.440/.565 slash line for a 1.005 OPS with two runs scored, a double, triple, and eight RBI in six games last week against Knoxville. Veras was also unsuccessful on his lone stolen base attempt.

Shane Murphy

24-year-old Shane Murphy was able to bring his sparkling ERA down to 1.38 as a member of the Barons with his latest outing, and his 0.83 WHIP is none too shabby either.

Tyler Schweitzer – MLB Pipeline White Sox #30

The shutout streak for 24-year-old Tyler Schweitzer is getting ridiculous, and is now at 41.2 innings without an earned run allowed for the Barons this season.

Riley Gowens

25-year-old Riley Gowens had another strong outing for the Barons last week against Knoxville.

Jorge Corona

24-year-old catcher Jorge Corona only appeared in two games last week with the Barons but made the most of the limited action, scoring three runs, had two hits, one of which was a home run, and an RBI.

Tyler Davis

26-year-old Tyler Davis had two scoreless appearances out of the Birmingham bullpen last week, throwing three and a third innings allowing two hits, two walks, and struck out six.

Jared Kelley

23-year-old right-hander Jared Kelley made two scoreless appearances last week, pitching three total innings allowing two hits, two walks, and struck out five.

Garrett Schoenle

27-year-old southpaw Garrett Schoenle made one perfect appearance throwing an inning with two strikeouts.

Trending on the Farm: A+ (Winston-Salem)

Jackson Appel

24-year-old Jackson Appel hit .438/.476/.625 for a 1.101 OPS with four runs scored, three doubles, four RBI, and was 2-for-2 on stolen bases in six games last week against Rome.

Gage Ziehl – MLB Pipeline White Sox #15

22-year-old Gage Ziehl hurled a shutout in his latest start for the Dash.

Lucas Gordon

23-year-old Lucas Gordon did his part and pitched well for the Dash with his most recent start.

Dylan Cumming

26-year-old Dylan Cumming twirled an excellent outing against Rome with his most recent start.

Frankeli Arias

22-year-old Franeli Arias had a good outing last week as the Dash continue to make a late push for a playoff spot.

Jacob Burke

24-year-old Jacob Burke appeared in one game for the Dash last week before making his way back to Birmingham, but his lone game was a 3-for-3 effort with a double, a run scored, and two RBI.

Morris Austin

25-year-old righty Morris Austin made two perfect appearances, throwing two innings while notching two strikeouts.

Nick Altermatt

25-year-old righty Nick Altermatt made two scoreless appearances last week, throwing two and two thirds innings allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out four.

Jake Bockenstedt

25-year-old right-hander Jake Bockenstedt made one scoreless appearance, throwing one and two thirds innings allowing one hit and struck out one.

Jonathan Clark

25-year-old right-hander Jonathan Clark made two scoreless appearances, working two innings allowing one hit with two punchouts.

Carson Jacobs

24-year-old righty Carson Jacobs worked two scoreless outings throwing three total innings allowing three hits, struck out three, and secured one save.

Jarold Rosado

23-year-old right-hander Jarold Rosado made two perfect appearances last week, pitching three and a third innings allowing two hits and punched out seven batters.

Aric McAtee

25-year-old righty Aric McAtee made two scorless appearances, pitching two innings allowing two hits and struck out four batters.

Anthony DePino

2025 seventh round draft pick Anthony DePino hit .400/.536/.700 for a 1.236 OPS in six games last week. The 22-year-old scored six runs, had three doubles, a home run, seven RBI, walked and struck out seven times as well, and was 2-for-2 on stolen bases while being named the Carolina League Player of the Week.

James Taussig

2025 UDFA signing James Taussig posted a .462/.500/.692 slash line with a 1.192 OPS in three games last week. The 22-year-old also scored four runs, had a double, triple, three RBI, and both walked and struck out one time.

Mathias LaCombe – MLB Pipeline White Sox #22

23-year-old Mathias LaCombe made one scoreless appearance last week.

Grant Umberger

23-year-old Grant Umberger continues to deal in the Kannapolis rotation.

Justin Sinibaldi

23-year-old Justin Sinibaldi worked five scoreless frames for the Cannon Ballers last week against Salem.

Miguel Santos

24-year-old Miguel Santos hit .391/.462/.522 for a .984 OPS with four runs scored, one double, one triple, two RBI, had three walks (two strikeouts), and was 3-for-4 on stolen bases.

Ely Brown

21-year-old 2025 12th round draft pick Ely Brown hit .417/.517/.458 for a .975 OPS in six games. Brown also scored seven runs, hit a double, drove in five, walked five times to four strikeouts, and was a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen bases.

Hale Sims

Recently turned 26-year-old right-hander Hale Sims made two appearances for Kannapolis last week, throwing three and two thirds innings allowing a hit, two unearned runs, and struck out four.

Jesús Mendez

21-year-old Jesús Mendez made three scoreless appearances last week, throwing three innings allowing two hits, struck out four, and secured two saves.

Jake Curtis

23-year-old right-hander Jake Curtis made one multi-inning appearance last week, pitching three shutout innings allowing three hits while also striking out three.

Madison Jeffrey

25-year-old righty Madison Jeffrey made one scoreless appearance, hurling one and two thirds innings allowing a hit and two strikeouts.

Kevin Davis

26-year-old right-hander Kevin Davis made two scoreless appearances throwing an inning and two thirds allowing one hit, one walk, one strikeout, and notched one save.
