Colson Montgomery

Colson Montgomery made his return to a full season affiliate and chose violence against the Hickory Crawdads pitching staff. Montgomery appeared in four games, had nine hits in 15 at-bats, three of which went for extra bases, and also walked more (five) than he struck out (four).

Noah Schultz

Noah Schultz continues to dazzle for the Cannon Ballers, as the only blemish of his outing was a hit-by-pitch. In case you were wondering, Schultz hasn’t allowed a hit in four consecutive starts (10 innings pitched).

Peyton Pallette

Peyton Pallette had another tough beginning to his outing, allowing the first two runners to reach (triple, walk). A sac fly, throwing error (on a pickoff attempt), and a single allowed two runs to cross before Pallette settled in.

José Rodríguez

Out of José Rodríguez’s five hits for the week, three went for extra bases. It was a tough series overall for the Barons offense.

Cristian Mena

Walks plagued Cristian Mena’s outing last week against Tennessee, as the 20 year old righty has had scuffled in his first two starts in July (seven and a third innings pitched, 8.59 ERA, 2.32 WHIP).

Bryan Ramos

It was a week to forget for Bryan Ramos and the Barons, but both of his hits went for extra bases.

Jonathan Cannon

Jonathan Cannon had a short start last week while also making an appearance in the Futures Game where he struck out a batter and walked a batter in a scoreless inning of work.

Lenyn Sosa

Lenyn Sosa sure loves hitting in Charlotte. The 23 year old had four extra base hits (two doubles, two home runs) en route to another above average week at the plate for the middle infielder. Sosa is now sporting a .971 OPS for the season for the Knights.

Best of the Rest

AAA (CharlottE)

Victor Reyes

There weren’t many bright spots for the Knights last week, but Victor Reyes added some thump to the lineup. Reyes had three extra base hits last week (double, triple, home run) and walked more (4) than he struck out (2). The 28 year old outfielder has an .897 OPS for the season.

AA (birmingham)

Xavier Fernández

Xavier Fernández was the main bright spot for the Barons offense. The 27 year old catcher appeared in four games slashing .364/.533/.545 for a 1.078 OPS with two doubles and walked more (four) than he struck out (three).

Ben Holmes

Ben Holmes was solid in both of his appearances for the Barons last week. The 31 year old southpaw pitched three innings allowing one hit, one run (unearned), and struck out three.

Matthew thompson

Matthew Thompson was solid in his outing against Tennessee. The 22 year old pitched five and a third innings allowing five hits, one run (earned), and both walked and struck out four. A+ (Winston-Salem)

Jacob burke

Jacob Burke’s stellar start to his Dash tenure rolled on last week. The 22 year old outfielder knocked three extra base hits (two doubles, triple) while batting .381/.500/.571 for a 1.071 OPS. Burke also scored six runs and went 2-for-2 on stolen bases.

A (Kannapolis)

Brooks Baldwin

22 year old Brooks Baldwin was crushing the ball last week against Down East. The switch hitter slashed .333/.417/.905 for a 1.322 OPS with four home runs, eight RBI, and even was successful on his only stolen base attempt.

BEN BEUTEL & Mason Adams

23 year old lefty Ben Beutel was fantastic out of the bullpen for the Cannon Ballers. Beutel pitched six and a third total innings, allowing four hits, one walk, and struck out nine while also converting his only save attempt.

23 year old righty Mason Adams continues to piggyback with Noah Schultz and has continued to dominate lineups. Adams threw five innings in relief allowing six hits, one run (earned), walked one, and struck out 10.
